I’m stretching out my hand
Can you help this homeless man?
Hey Mr., can you spare a dime?
Oh That’s a waste of your time
Ok I understand
If theres a place they call home
But I can’t find my way
Hey mister, can you come and help me
That’s okay, you got a busy day
I understand
I need to eat, I’m starving
I’m so hungry
I need meat in my tummy
But I don’t have no money
Oh, you got a busy day
That’s what you say
I understand
Can’t help this homeless man
Please, tell me who am I
Most times I don’t even know
I’m sleeping on the sidewalk
Financial district, downtown T.O.
Freezing in the snow
So cold, can’t feel my toes
I scream, people keep walking
Seems I am not their problem
I tremble and I shiver
It’s winter, can’t feel my fingers
Please can you help me my brother, my sister?
Why’s life’s so sinister?
Oh, You got a busy day
Can’t help me find my way
I understand
I’m the homeless man
They’re tearing down my tent
Beneath the Gardner Expressway
Try sleeping under a highway
Then maybe you’ll see things my way
Sleep at night in the TD
They kick me off the TTC
They calling police, call security
People laughing at me
They don’t understand
Cold concrete’s my bed
I can relate to what Bob said
I got no money, no token
I think I reached Danforth and Logan
I’m trying find my way
You can’t help me man?
Oh, You got a busy day
I understand
I’m the homeless man
Ain’t got no home
Ain’t got no phone
Please, help me somebody
I’m walking alone
Don’t trust nobody
Ain’t got no family
Ain’t got no money
I’m oh so alone
