See Hot Pics – Reggae Or Die @ The Guvernment 02.22.13
This party was packed with Reggae diehards who drank, smoked and partied hard all night long. All of the Sounds played well, big up Black Reaction for a wicked early round, dunning the place after their appearance on Sound System Fridays. Big up DJ Tyrone who killed it in the later rounds. This dance had it’s own vibe – people had fun (as you can see in the pics) and yeah, it was Reggae all night, with the exception of a few notes of Hip-hop thrown in here and there to whip the crowd into a frenzy. This dance was fun, one of the best thus far! Enjoy the pics!

See Hot Pics – Diced Pineapples Capricorn & Aquarius Gala @ Kool Haus 02.02.13
Big Up Fire Kid Steenie! Once again, he pulled out all the stops and accomplished a feat that only a few before him have managed to do – he packed the Kool Haus with an all Canadian DJ line-up for his birthday bash Diced Pineapples. The night was a success! Steenie can relax now for another nine months or so before planning his next one. I entered the Kool Haus at 1:45 AM and exited at 4:00 AM. The event was highly entertaining thanks to ‘our’ local talent and the pacing of the dance was spot on. There were 2, 500 plus in attendance to help Firistic (Steenie) celebrate his ‘earthstrong’ so the pressure was on – DJ’s that night had to bring it and bring it quick. I have to give props to all of the DJs that I saw perform that night – playing chunes at a quick-fire pace has become the norm for top DJ form.
Big Up Legacy and Infamous – the Hip-hop was hot all night! Big Up Whitebwoy (who is always consistent), Black Reaction (who played after DJ Tyrone and did very well ) and Chippy from Military (who closed off the night). Props to DJ Tyrone who played his set during the ‘climax’ of the event. He played well, but, may have been overshadowed by the group of dancers that accompanied him on stage. Tyrone was there to please – the women in the dance were already worked up (with the racy speeches from the selectors) and (the sexual nature of the songs and riddims that were being played) ready to bash out! They were there to party, dance and have a good time – DJ Tyrone delivered!
Once again Steenie, congrats! Not many people can do what you do and still stay humble, that’s why some a dem stumble. Keep doing what you’re doing, play hard, say it ‘how you feel it’ and enjoy the good times! Toronto has shown their love for you – stay true to yourself and make sure that the people you surround yourself with have your best interests at heart! Enjoy the pics!
