In case you haven’t been tuned in, there is anarchy inside the CKLN Radio that we once knew an loved. As a result of the political infighting our listeners and supporters have been left in the dark as to what’s going with 88.1 and why Friday Night Reggaemania and other credible CKLN programs were illegally stripped from the airwaves! To help clear the confusion, we ask that you visit this website (http://www.takebackourradio.blogspot.com) so you can get the full-hundred on this urgent and disgusting CKLN hostage Situation! If you want to help restore Friday Night Reggaemania back on the CKLN airwaves, please take a small moment to sign this online petition.
Part One of our Take Back 88 Fundraising Event was moderately successful. About 150 people paid $20 to get in (the majority paying $20 but some paying less) and another 25 artists with their guests made a total of about 200 plus people inside of Lions Gate Lounge, a Club that can hold about 800 people comfortably. It was nice to see people from our Organizing Group there too, as well as people from our legitimate CKLN Board and organizing group. The vibes in the place were really positive all night and everyone there had a good time. The best part is that the great majority of the artists scheduled to perform showed up and were complemented by great sound and audio.
The artists who performed included: TRINITY CHRIS ♪ ESCO LEVI ♪ SAMPLE KING ♪ TERMINAL DG ♪ J-LOGIX RICHIE LU ♪ LINDO P ♪ MR. COOPER ♪ SEAN BUSH ♪ KOREXION ♪ TONYA P ♪ HUMBLE ♪ MR. Music was played by top sounds King Turbo, Black Reaction, Vertex and Rootsman and was hosted by King Sharp, Jahmin (CIUT 89.5 Morning Ride) and J-Love (formerly of CHRY). The Timekeeper was CHRY’s Mr. Presto. It was nice to see a lot of people reach out and speak from their hearts about how much they appreciated Friday Night Reggaemania and how much they’d like to see it back. Hopefully, this will be the case one day, the struggle continues. This was part one of a 4-part Fundraising series. I will be donating the event’s total net profit of $1,000 to our cause. It’s not as much as I’d hope but Part 2 this Friday December 19th @ Lions Gate should have better attendance, we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed. Thanks so much to all who came out and supported, and to all of the very special people who volunteered their time to put this wonderful event together.
