Picking up from where CKLN Friday Night Reggaemania left off, Sound System Fridays was broadcast live every Fridays 9 PM – Midnight on U-Stream, iTunes and ReggaeMania.com for all to enjoy. There has never been a show to replicate the energy of Sound System Fridays since its inception. Broadcast from 2012-2014, ReggaeManiaRadio’s Sound System Fridays, brought to you (and hosted by) by former CKLN DJ Ron Nelson, became Canada’s first and premiere online Reggae-Dancehall show, featuring the best in local and International Reggae and Dancehall Sound Systems, Dee-Jays and Artistes playing and performing live every Friday from the ReggaeMania studios at Brimley Rd. Highway 401 in Scarborough for all to see and hear. Unfortunately U-Stream was sold and we did not back up our videos but we do have the pics, original show reviews and complete and downloadable audio archives for you to enjoy. DJ Ron Nelson spins Reggae and Dancehall from 9 – 12 midnight on Sound System Fridays
I learned one thing – I am motivated by new music! Actually, I already knew this, but this is the slowest month for new music. Seems the Olympics really distracted people – artists and producers alike. I’m hoping that changes. New music is the fuel for my fire! I’m looking forward to tomorrow on CHIN FM with Shalli.
This SSF first show featured DJ RON NELSON, DJ DELLY RANX, with special guests artists Terminal DG, and Lenn Hammond. This was the beginning of a long journey, the first episode of a new every Friday night
dancehall-reggae online radio show hosted by DJ Ron Nelson and featuring-showcasing live the best reggae-dancehall and sound clash sound systems in Canada and the world along with the live artists they chose to feature performing live. I consider this a great start, the studio vibe was so nice and Delly Ranx surprised me with his dee-jay set, and both Lenn Hammond and Terminal DG were naturals for me as I have spent lots of time with them in the past. I’m experimenting at the same time with video cameras and camera angles and mic quality and little distracting things, but overall it was a successful launching and the audio is here for you to enjoy.
This was unofficially our first show of a new Friday Night format where top local and international Sound Systems and Artists performs live during Friday Night ReggaeMania’s 9pm – 12am time-slot. This show featured Delly Ranx on the turntables and performing live, alongside Terminal DG and Lenn Hammond. An exciting show to watch – and the beginning of a completely new and exciting era!
This SSF show featured DJ Culcha and his GIDEON SOUND with special guest artist Nkrumah performing live. This was the 2nd of RMR’s Sound System Fridays–where top DJ’s and Sound Systems now take the
spotlight for the 9pm – 12am shift with a guest artist also performing live on the show. Last week we had Delly Ranx, Terminal DG and Lenn Hammond in studio – this show featured Gideon Sound with DJ Culcha alongside sing-jay Nchromah. This SSF show featured REBEL TONE Sound with DJ Newby with special guest artists Terrikally Speaking and Neilhyz. Rebel Tone Sound tore it up for Sound System Fridays. Newby: the ultimate showman! He did
exactly what we expected him to do – put on a show. Not only did he drop wicked dancehall chune after chune, he also put on a showcase featuring himself, Terrikally Speaking and Neilhyz – artistes from the Rebel Tone camp. His energy is insane yet infectious. Rebel Tone a big talent – enjoy the vibes!
Toronto’s Frazah C-Lection Sound took over the controls this Friday night for Sound System Fridays alongside his partner in crime – Kafinal, who added some spice to the bubbling hot sounds. This show had nuff vibes –
great music, interesting dialogue and a very entertaining performance from Kafinal himself. I must admit, I had never seen him live before, so, i didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! Enjoy the podcast!
