BACK IN THE OLD SCHOOL DAYS

I was 10 when emigrated from Kingston, Jamaica, and came here to live in Toronto, Canada in 1973. In Jamaica, I had already completed grade 5 at Prembroke Hall Primary School. I should have entered grade 6 here based on my age, but the system was designed to put foreign students like myself one year back, so my first year in Canada was as a grade 5 student one year older than my classmates. I attended Brookbanks Public School for grades 5 and 6, grade 7 – 9 was Donview Heights Jr. High School, grades 10 – 13 was Victoria Park High School, then from ’83-85, I attended Ryerson Polytechnical Institute aka Metropolitan University, where I earned my Radio & Television Broadcasting Degree. 👀
