QBS, Blackmoon Ent. and Biggz 4000 in association with Sample King, Korexion and Triston Fivestar presents ‘Buss’ – The All Canadian Stage Show, Friday, November 8, 2013 at On The Rox Entertainment Complex featuring Eyesus, Triston Fivestar, J Logix, Korexion, Reese Badda, Chuck Starr, Kim Kelly, Fyah Lion, Newby, Don Dem, Kay Goodaz, Tonya P, Cold Stone, Lindo P, Sample King and Fire Kid Steenie.
Big Up to the promoters, artistes and fans for an entertaining evening! Some of Toronto’s finest artistes (known and unknown) gathered at On The Rox Nightclub to showcase their skills – each were given five to ten minutes to let it ‘Buss’ on stage. A rare opportunity for Toronto’s rich and diverse talent to come together as there really isn’t a hub for them to meet up and hone their skills.
As unbelievable as it may seem, each year, one could count on one hand the number of times that these high calibre artistes were asked to perform, either as an opening act, or as a headliner. Big stage shows keep coming here, yet, the promoters seem to draw for the same talent, over and over. Hopefully, ‘Buss’ did jus’ that – bus’ the tight circle that the promoters keep. It’s time to recognise and reward these multi-talented artistes with some gigs! We need to nurture the scene and push for a change! We are loud and proud!
The fan support for shows featuring local artistes has always been a problem. This show, while maybe not profiting, showed a lot of promise. My guess is, the majority of these artistes performed for free – everyone understands the importance of a non-paid gig for promotional purposes. Once the night started, everyone took their place and the show went on. The crowd continued to swell throughout the night and the promoters of the event had to be happy knowing that all their planning and hard work had paid off – figuratively, not literally!
Big Up to all the participating artistes! Every artiste took this event seriously and fully represented. I have a hunch that there will be a ‘Buss’ – Part Two. Keep your ears pricked and your eyes peeled! Congratulations to the promoters who created, produced and promoted the Canadian Artiste concept! Enjoy the pics!
See Hot Pics – Luciano @ Opera House 11.02.13
Here are the pics that I took at IREMEMBER featuring Luciano ‘Messenjah’ and Jesse Royal at the Opera House last Saturday. I missed Jesse’s performance due to my radio show on 100.7 CHIN-FM (10 PM – Midnight), but, managed to get there in time to snap some photos of Luci. I took some pictures from the balcony upstairs as well as front of house.
I must say, Luciano really gives it his all when performing. I’m sure, given the choice, he would choose the stage over the studio – he loves to entertain. Luci worked the packed house and then some – he even threw in a few cartwheels and flips. This show was enjoyed by all and happened to fall on the 83rd Anniversary of the Coronation of Emperor Haile Selassie I – I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate! Luciano made himself available to the fans and media alike after the show and was a pleasure to deal with. Luci, Big Up yourself! I know I told you this in-person, but, I’ll reiterate it again – I’ve seen many Jamaican artistes perform, but, you exceed them all – you love to perform and most of all, you have fun doing it!
